Question:

Which light bulb is telling the truth?

The vanity in my bathroom had incadescent light bulbs, soft white(warm), until i switched them with energy efficient fluorescent light bulbs. They are supposed to imitate daylight so they are a cool tone. But these light bulbs now point out flaws on your face even more. They bring out wrinkles and even bring out things i've never seen on my face like little pimples on my forehead. I don't know if this is just the trick of the light bulb or what. But i just want to know, which one is telling the truth?

  1. It's the color of the light, the "truth" I guess is whatever kind of light that you might be in when others observe you.

  2. I would say that the energy efficient ones are the better ones, but the soft lighting are the true ones.

If you think of it like this, if every defect is clear, then you can go out knowing anyone that sees you will see a much better image of you than you have when you look in the mirror. It might be less flattering, but at least if it picks up on something you can take action, whereas with the softer light you run the risk of being out, seeing something in a reflected surface and realising that there is a pimple on your face and not being anywhere you can do anything about it.

I would have both if you could. The soft light ones to see you as others see you, and the energy efficient ones to identify any possible problems
