Question:

Which litter for rabbit?

So far I have used Yesterday's News, which I was not at all happy with. As of right now I am using Kaytee Soft-Sorbent, I'm happier with it, but still open to try other brands.

I want a litter that is 100% safe for rabbits, but I want to be able to easily scoop it with a sifter.

What other brands should I look for that meet my two concerns?

If you list any brands, please give me reasons why it is a good brand and a link about the brand if you can, or even personal experiences with it.

Thanks.

There's a list of healthy beddings.

If just cell-sorb-plus and found it to be decent.

    Carefresh bunnies always eats.

I hate soft beddings because my bunny of the cage, so I'd recommend one of the pellet varieties.

  2. I sometimes take care of a rabbit whose breeder's use Yesterday's News, and I wasn't very keen on it either.  I found it ugly and hard to clean up with.

I used Soft-Sorbent when I had guinea pigs, and that was fine, except that it left bits of the litter in their fur.

For my rabbits, I use pine shavings, which absorb very well, but my rabbits sit on wire over the tray, not on the litter itself.

I would stick with Kaytee.  Over the years I've experimented with loads of different litters, but none really are aimed at rabbits.  Kaytee is relatively neat and it absorbs smell really well.  You may try corn cob as well, but it gets stuck in furt more than Kaytee.  Its kernels are smaller though, so it may be good for sifting.  Good luck.
