Which locomotives usually ran on the west coast mainline around carnforth in 1963?

As this is on the west coast main line the locomotives you were most likely to see would as previously answered ex LMS locomotives, these were likely to encompass Princess Royal, Princess Coronation, Jubilee, Black 5 and 8f for the larger loco's though some smaller loco's on the branch lines would be seen.

Also present would be the range of BR standard designs of steam loco, Britannia, 5mt, 4mt(shap bankers) and 9f.

At this time also the first generations of diesels were also around these would have included, class 40, class 44, class 45, class 37, class 31and possibly class 20 though on the latter I am not sure.

LMS LOCO,S PROBABLY THE DUCHESS & PRINCESS CLASS WERE JUST COMING TO THE END OF THERE  LIFE IN THE EARLY 60,S AND DIESEL WAS JUST STARTING TO COME IN.SO LOOK UP ALL LMS LOC,O,S AND PROBABLY MOST WOULD HAVE BEEN AROUND.CARNFORTH WAS ON THE MAIN LINE BETWEEN CREWE PRESTON CARLISLE AND INTO SCOTLAND.
