  1. Thai Silk Waterloo (book)

  2. I'm a big fan of The Pepper Tree on Clapham Common Southside, just opposite the exit to Clapham Common Tube.

Rather than being one of the over-the-top Thai style restaurants, it's a very informal place, with long wooden benches being shared between groups of people.  It's often queued out, and the food is top quality (I recommend the yellow curry, coconut rice, and some stem ginger ice cream) and extremely good value.

Plus, you've got the Alexandria and Bar Local just next door...  Excellent places to drink.

  3. Thai Square in Angel is my favorite, fantastic authentic food.

  4. If you're in Bangkok looking for a London-style restaurant, go to Sukhumvit Road Soi 4 at Jool's Bar and Restaurant. Landmark is Nana Entertainment Complex. Walking distance from it. You will find alot of Punjabi/North Indian Tailor shops in this area.

If you're in London looking for a Thai restaurant, go to Yum Yum Thai Restaurant in Stoke Newington High Street, London.

  5. Blue Elephant, stunning restaurant inside, water streams run through the restaurant and great food, yum yum!

  6. Yum Yum's in Stoke Newington is cheap and stylish, or for somewhere pricier, Bam-Bou in W1 is owned by the same people who have The Ivy.

  7. thai waitresses waouhhhhhhhhhhh

most important  than the food ;-)

  8. There are five Thai restaurants in London in the good Food Guide:

Patara W1 (and three other fairly central branches)

    Blue Elephant SW6

    Nahm SW1

    Mango Tree SW1

    Thai Garden E2

I would personally avoid Nahm as it is costly and I have not been impressed with the food there.  Thai Garden is simple and pleasant and useful if you want an East London venue.  Mango Tree is OK but no more that (in Victoria).  Blue Elephant serves quite good food but you would mostly choose this Fulham place for its spectacular decor - it is like going into a rain forest; hence it is good for a date or somewhere where the atmosphere is very important.  You do pay a bit for this decor though.  In my opinion the best for food is Patara in Greek Street Soho.  I have tried each Patara branch and they are all fine, but the Greek Street one has the edge.
