  1. omega 3

  2. omega 3 fish oil

  3. Actually, grapeseed oil.  Be careful about fish oil as there are no standards, i.e., the fish could be loaded with mercury and other substances (toxins, pesticides) that settle in the fats (oils) of animals.  And, if you are truly a vegan...remember, it takes a dead animal to make fish oil.

Other great sources of omega 3 are flaxseed, sunflower, safflower, and avocado oils.  Besides, you want EXTRA virgin, because it is the purest.

  4. Exercise and maintaining a BMI below 20 will lower cholesterol.

  5. Udo's Choice Blend Flax Seed Oil, Hemp Oil.. there is very little contols happening in the fish oil industry. PLUS there are plenty of toxins now in our seafood.

  6. Which is better - that might depend on what study you read. Why not use both? And you don't have to get your omega 3 from fish oil, it comes from plant sources as well. Using both, as is probably the case in a Mediterranean diet, is most likely going to lower your cholestoral better than using only one or the other.

    According to http://www.umm.edu/altmed/articles/omega...

    " High cholesterol

Those who follow a Mediterranean-style diet tend to have higher high density lipoprotein (HDL or "good" )cholesterol levels. Similar to those who follow a Mediterranean diet, Inuit Eskimos, who consume high amounts of omega-3 fatty acids from fatty fish, also tend to have increased HDL cholesterol and decreased triglycerides (fatty material that circulates in the blood). In addition, fish oil supplements containing eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) have been reported in several large clinical studies to reduce low density lipoprotein (LDL or "bad") cholesterol and triglyceride levels. Finally, walnuts (which are rich in alpha linolenic acid or ALA) have been reported to lower total cholesterol and triglycerides in individuals with high cholesterol levels."

Just keep in mind the 4:1 ratio with Omega 3 and Omega 6 because ignoring the ratio tends to lead to inflammation diseases among other problems.
