  1. White eyebrow and shaolin is good, chen style has some really good grapples and strikes.

  2. krav maga is only for real life situations as is wing tsun kung fu

  3. crosstraining is the key to being able to defend your self in all situations.i suggest a base in freestyle karate which will teach you stand up,ground/grappling,weapons and practicle street wise self defence.when you have a good base in that then crosstrain in other styles such as muay thai and jujitsu.

avoid fad styles such as krap maga, crapiera and bjj.bjj is ok if you use it as one of the styles you crosstrain in,same goes for muay thai or kickboxing.they are good styles but are not intended for self defence, they are intended for use in the ring with a referee where the enviroment is controlled.in saying that though any training is better than none because if you at least know how to throw a punch properley or you're fit it will give you an advantage over the average joe on the street.

  4. kickboxing or just boxing if you have distance, wrestling if you are grabbed. in MOST fights you would need a combination, just  watch real life fights on the internet, you can see that there is a combination of both standing and trading punches and then ground fighting or grappling. If you are trying to learn for self defense then take kickboxing, if you are still in highschool take wrestling. One more thing, if you think that someone is definitely   going to fight you no matter what you do, it will greatly increase your chances of winning if you throw the first punch.

  5. I would suggest a teacher who will put you in the "bull pen" so to speak. Which means realistic sparring with realistic numbers of people and showing the improv of weapon use. The style doesn't matter as much as the training and the individual.

  6. The quality and frequency of your training will far outweigh the style.

  7. You're absolutely right about muay thai. It is street vicious for protecting yourself in a real fight. I also suggest Brazilian Jujitsu, Krav Maga, or Jeet Kun Do Concepts. To be extra safe, you should order some 'legal' clear plastic knuckles (made from bullet-proof glass) to put more sting and impact behind your punch.

  8. kick boxing or JuJitzu       I do both

  9. Unfortunately, while wrestling & BJJ are great for one-on-one, I would recommend Aikido.  The techniques of Aikido redirect the aggressive energy of an attacker, causing them to be thrown, immobilized, or otherwise thwarted depending on the skill and intentions of the practitioner. Aikido training is taught in a non-competitive and cooperative manner, emphasizing defense: not getting grabbed, not getting struck and not getting taken down to the ground.

  10. Wrestling, brazillian jiu jitsu (or gracie jiu jitsu), or boxing (if muay thai isn't available).  Karate, tae kwon do, kung fu (except san shou), aikido, japanese jiu jitsu, etc. are useless and more forms of expressive dance than martial arts.  You may as well be doing ballet if you're trying to learn to fight with karate/tkd/kung fu/aikido.

  11. I dont know what type u want. Stealth is a viper style and tiger style is agressive. but not tai chi. tai chi is relaxation. Look up different styles until u find one u like.

  12. the style does not matter what matters most is how they train you look for someone who uses realistic training but no teacher will tell you that their training is not realistic I use Modern Arnis I find it to be good for that

  13. i agree with krav maga  ÃƒÂ‚´cause is direct and don't lose time with grappling's that can cause you to get hit by another person krav maga  teach you presure point , basic( but efective )punchs and blocks  etc. but its hard to find good schools .
