Question:

Which material for couch/sofa endures/cleans spills and spit-up best? Leather, micro fiber, or pleather?

I have a three year old and a baby on the way. My children are spitters, so the baby will be spitting up a lot and my toddler son is not exactly gentle on our furniture. I don't have a whole lot of money to spend, but I want something durable that won't look awful and will be very easy to clean. We tried a slip cover, but my son pulls out daily by rolling around on the couch and it is a pain in the butt for me to rearrange daily... any suggestions?

  1. I second the microsuede.  I have a 2.5 year old and a 10 month old.  With the 2.5 year old he spit up milk all over my couch and it was gross.  Then I had the microsuede couch and the baby spit up too, it just washed off with a damp cloth.  Cat hair, milk, food, everything.  I got my couch with long chaise for about 1400.

  2. I happen to think microsuede actually cleans up and hold up the best.  I have 2 little ones and a dog and mine has stood the test.

  3. Leather is about the best, the darker the better. Black, Chocolate or Charcoal are the best colours to have, especially with little ones.

Pleather tends to tear easily, leather is more durable.

    Good Luck.X :-)
