  1. Take 2 gen chem, 2 physics, 2 bio, 2 organic chem, classes with labs. Take 2 english classes, 1 or 2 calc classes, and a stats class. Don't expect scholarships, expect loans. University of Chicago, Pritzker school of medicine is the best. Loyola is good for primary care (E.R. counts as that). Northwestern is competitive with Pritzker, possibly a little better honestly. You should apply to at least 10-12 med schools if you are competitive (33Q or higher on MCAT), any lower you should apply to 20-30. The higher your score, the better schools you should apply to. I would apply to all of the illinois if that's a factor for you, but apply to some schools that are better than your competitiveness and worse. Buy an MSAR, it has all the data you will ever need.

  2. um... doesn't matter. any medical school in Illinois that is willing to admit you is great.

  3. actually, medical school is so hard to get into that people usually applies to many other than their first choice, if i was you, i would look into all the schools in illinois (7 i think), and apply to all of them, then you can choose one when visiting campuses for the interviews.
