  1. I must agree with Rachelle that is was a title bestowed on Prince Philip by Queen Elizabeth II's father the day before they wed. He has several titles besides this one. He is now known as Prince Philip, Prince Consort, Duke of Edinburgh, Earl of Merioneth, Baron of Greenwich. He has since given the title of Duke of Edinburgh to his youngest son on his wedding day
