Question:

Which memory card to get for my XSI Canon camera?

I just got myself a brand new canon :] But not a memory card yet! Which one is the best?

  1. an SD or SDHC memory card will do..

    am using kingston 2GB SD card in my Canon XSI.

    Sandisk is a good brand as well.


  2. You can go with any named brand SD/SDHC card and be happy with it.  You do not need to buy "hi speed" cards as you will not see any perceptible difference with these cards (except for the price).

    If you check around, you will see that Lexar cards are optimized for Nikon cameras (though they work just fine in Canons)  There is not such optimization on any card Canon cameras.

    I also generally tend to stay with lower size cards (4 GB and under).  First I never want too many pictures on one card (in case one fails), and second, I see no point in paying the premium price for the larger sized cards.
