Which memory cards are compatible for a nikon d40 slr camera?

I just bought i nikon d40 and i assumed it came with everything you needed... but now i need to buy a memory card, because you can't take pictures without one. Does anyone know which SD memory card to buy?

Hey, i have a nikon d40, it does in fact take secure digital cards ( sd cards for short ), they are widely used in digital SLR photography. For my d40, i got it with a 1gig. card, however, you might want to get a higher one like four or eight, so you can get the maximum amount of shots from you digital camera. Have fun with the d40

SD & SDHC Memory Cards

I dont know anything more specific than that, any SD should work.
