We're tossing around several ideas that all sound good but can't really decide on what to go with.

Option 1 (Southern food):

Chicken fried steak

Fried chicken

Mashed potatoes

Mac & cheese

Cajun rice

Hushpuppies

Buttermilk biscuits

Sweet iced tea

Option 2 (Mexican)

Fajitas (choice of beef or chicken)

Tacos

Refried beans

Spanish rice

Chips & salsa

Horchata

Margaritas/daiquiris/coladas

Option 3 (American diner):

Pot roast & mashed potatoes

(something else yet to be decided)

  1. Option 2- you can make mexican food classy and themey- however there is nothing classy and elegant about hushpuppies and biscuits- delicious but not for a wedding

  2. I may be a yankee but...I choose option one.....

  3. while I think the last one would be the most classym the first sounds most delicious and weddings are about decadence hun! go with the bad@ss fry foods! XD darn, now I am hungry >.>

  4. number one all the way

number 2 is no good unless you or your husband  to be are mexican and there will be alot of mexicans comming to your wedding

number 3 ...pot roast ?? really at a wedding????

  5. Southern Food definitely. YUMMMM  Mexican fodd is good but too messy, for a wedding. And you can't beat Southren Food.

  6. I'd go for option one, I don't like mexican food

  7. I love fried chicken but think that could get bad for a wedding (greasy fingers).   Kind of the same problem with tacos and fajitas, though.  Since you are offering something you can eat besides finger utensil options with the first one (chicken fried steak) I may go with that.  Pot roast doesn't sound quite as tasty.

  8. I am a farm grown country girl...I would say 1 or 3. There are a lot of people whos stomachs can't handle spices....?

  9. I think I'd prefer option 3.

Please add some veggies to your menu, whichever choice you go with.  Otherwise your guests will fall asleep halfway through the dance.

  10. Definitely #3.

#1 -- too much fried food.

#2 -- I like, but not really a good idea for lots of guests.

    I would much prefer #3.

  11. Definitely the first sounds really appetizing. And like comfort food. :)

  12. Option #1 :]

  13. I like the first.

  14. One looks great, or three is fine, too.

Maybe for late lunch you could do Mexican fingerfood things...

  15. They all sound good, but the first menu sounds really great!  People can be kinda finicky when it comes to mexican food, so I think fried chicken and the accompanying side-dishes would be a better crowd-pleaser.

  16. definitely the first one...

the second one is a really bad choice...people will be walking around farting...lol

  17. option 3.  someone on low carb is going to have a hard time with the others.

  18. Oooh, number one sounds delicious!! Can I come?? JK

    Congrats and Happy Marriage!!

  19. The first one is the crowd pleaser, good for any season. I like the mac and cheese option, for people that might not like the meat, mac and cheese is a main dish in many households. And there is the cajun rice for the adventurous. I would add a veggie or a fruit option though, that is a lot of starchy foods. Sounds good though, I'm a starch kinda person.

I wish we knew more about #3, most people like pot roast and veggies and mashed potatoes.

  20. I know I wouldnt do american you can get that any time for a wedding you should do mexican

  21. Option 1 is your better bet. If there will be children at this wedding they will definitely enjoy this menu more. also with the second option you would have the trouble with people maybe having acid reflux disease and this menu while enjoyable at the time will later cause major discomfort. The third choice is too simple and is more of a rehearsal dinner then a wedding reception.

  22. definatly #1

it has something for everybody. its got fried chicken, which pretty much everybody likes. mashed potatoes, which is a very homey food. it has something a little more adventures in teh cajun rice. and its got something for the kids with mac & cheese. although i would add another beverage cause not everybody likes tea.

i know your going to add more to 3 but so far it sounds good also.

  23. 2.  I'm just weird, though. ; )

  24. I like the second one.. the Mexican food sounds great, and pina coladas and margaritas are two of my favorite drinks!!

  25. I like the first one the best.  :-)

  26. The first choice sounds great!

  27. The first one
