  1. They are both equally easy methods. They are both commonly used in basic microbiology. The only issue with the streak plate method is don't dig into the agar with your innoculating loop


  2. I agree about not digging into the AGAR with the loop.  That can be easy to do, especially if the medium has not set for long enough.  I find broth techniques more difficult in general because I have no patience when it comes to air-drying.  They are both fairly easy methods.  I prefer streak plate.
