Which microphone would you recommend to be used with Audacity?

I need a mic that would work properly and sound like the song's done in a studio

  1. Marshall MXL SP-1

    They only cost around US$40 and there are still some available here-and-there (E-bay sometimes, PSSL.com).

    This is by far the best value for a studio condenser microphone, EVER!

    You will also need a direct-box containing a phantom power supply for the microphone (the Audacity does not supply phantom power).  And you will need adapter cables from XLR to the 1/8" or 3/16" input jack on the Audacity -- whatever the direct box has (I assume it is XLR).
