Which millitary branch is best for me?

Im 18, I just barely graduated high school. I am very smart I just hated school. i have a reserved personality but would like to change that, i would like to stay in florida where i grew up (i dont wanna be moved all over the country). i would like to do something interesting that nobody else gets to do.... something impressive.

Like the other answer stated, the guard or reserves is a good choice for one wanting to serve but not leave home forever. Since you stated that you are smart, I would recommend looking into the Air Force Reserves or Air National Guard OR Navy Reserves. They tend to have more technical types of jobs in a comparatively clean environment. I am in the Army Nat 'guard working in communications and we have high tech jobs too, but in retrospect, I would have chosen the Navy or Air Force first. If you wanna be impressive, go be a Navy or Army diver. This job is tough and would impress anyone simply that you passed, or go intel or crypto. And another point, it all depends what you cinsider impressive.

If you don't want to be moved around too much, you should look into the Reserve or National Guard.  There is no way to be active duty and not get moved.  Try making some appointments with recruiters from the different services and find out what jobs they have available for you.  You'll have to take the ASVAB test and see how high you score.  That will help determine what jobs you will be eligible for.  Good luck!

Stay out of the military then. I know of no branch that will allow you to stay in Florida and not deploy you. There are no jobs that nobody else gets to do, simply because they need to be done, and get done.

Something impressive? Well, all of our service members do something impressive. They protect our freedom's and our rights by putting their lives on the line when they are deployed. You want impressive, THAT is impressive.
