  1. Depends on what part of Australia you are going to, and how much you like the heat. Our winter is their summer, so the hottest time is around Christmas, and also the most expensive in travel cost. Northern Aus is humid, and tropical, south is variable, and the middle: Alice Springs, Ayers rock etc, known as the Red Centre, is the hottest, but is the most amazing!  The landscape will knock you sideways. If you go to see Ayers Rock, aborigine name:Uluru, try and be there at dawn, the sun rise, and watching the rock change colour is amazing, and the atmosphere is really spiritual.

  2. Autumn to winter (March to August) in the north - weather is dry and mild

Spring (September to October) in West Australia - beautiful wild flowers

Winter (June to August) in the Aust snow fields for skiing. Late summer (Feb to March) for walking.

Autumn (April, May) in Victoria - beautiful coloured leaves

Summer ((October, November, December, January, Feburary) from the mid north to the south, anywhere along the coast. You need a beach (but not in the north - marine stingers are dangerous).

  3. Simple, the top half of Australia should be done in May, June, July, August and September.

The bottom half should be done in October, November, December, January and February.

  4. We have sunny days most of the year and if you are going to travel in a motor vehicle it should be in tip top condition. Probably the worst time to travel around in Australia is during the school holidays here. This is when most families take their children on holidays so the usual tourist facilities tend to be booked out. The link below will give you details about school holidays in all the states and territories in Australia
