  1. ok i have a giant faith 2 and its amazing, its a full suspension DH race free ride bike and it runs about 3000 and ALL the components are top of the line and durable, the bike is AMAZING and giant makes good ones, really good ones REALLY

treks are **** and cheap dont get one

konas are also ****, they are stuck in the past, if u look at them 5 years ago and now, they are made from the same stuff and all the same components from 5 years ago

garys are ok but overall for GREAT BIKES go with GIANT always

  2. at any given price point, each of these bikes will be of similar quality. your best bet is to go to your LBS, tell them you have $700 to spend, and ride the bikes they have in that price range. any of the major brands will have a lifetime warranty on the frame, against manufacturers defects (not running it over). with a budget of $700 you are right to stick to hardtails..

  3. Go with the Giant the Xtc is a proven bike and will last a long time. FYI the Trek is made in a Giant plant.
