  1. tell you what anything could be better than what happened to me yesterday????????????/

  2. Ok I would suggest not purchasing a Trek, the are peice of junk, but higher ended than a Schwinn, Huffy etc etc. I would recommend a Fuji for your type of riding. A Trek furl would be ok, but a fuji would be a lor better it would make going up hills easier and would help you endurance train. I like Bianchi's personally but honestly there commuter, race bikes are better than there line of mountain bikes. The trek would do you good. But a Fuji would be a lot better but more expensive just depends on what you are looking for.

  3. At the end it is more a personal choice. The most important thing as you know is for the bike to fit properly. Fit you, not the other way around.

I like Specialized the best from your selection. Good, sturdy,  reliable,...

  4. For going fast on single track, you could do worse than the Specialized.  The Kona is not bad either.  For the money (£1000?) you might also consider a hardtail.  The Boardman had a good MBR review recently.  Also, Evans are selling off their old stock of Scott MC40s for about a grand.  Worth considering.

But of the three I would choose the Specialized.

    Luck

  5. The advantage to the Cannondales are that they are super light.  I rode a hard-tail Cannondale one for a year and loved it.  Then I went to a dual suspension Jamis XAM-1 and LOVE it.  It's heavier, but more versatile.  MUCH better for downhill and trail riding.  But, the Cannondale was better for the easy trails and road because of the weight.

  6. Most of my riding is done on the trail. I prefer to ride on a Cannondale, however REI has their own line of bike called the Navarro, which are quality bikes at a reasonable price. Give them a look?
