I can't help you with the movie theater, but I can tell you that the Buckhorn Saloon and Museum will let you buy a beer and take it with you through the museum which is a blast since it's full of crazy stuff.

Horns, Fins, Feathers, The Hall of Texas History Wax Museum AND beer - you can't beat that with a stick!!
