Which muscle is more important for sprinting?

is it more important to have big calves or big quads for sprinting 100 metres.

  1. Both.  Quands will control the push with the large part of your legs, and calves will control the push with the foot.  Calves are actually the second strongest muscle in the body for lifting and quads the third.  Seriously, work them both hard, and you will develop it.  I'd say to do stairs as often as you can and squats.


  2. you quads then cafs. keep ur acilis tendon strong. and run on ur toes. good luck

    you need calves for a good push-off and quads for good lunges !
