  1. this is a sport where your entire body is required for manuevering and balancing. In order to keep your balance, your entire body must be involved, especially your upper body whereas that's the part of your body that's controlling the inhertia of the kite and the wind that's going through the kite! Your legs will need to be strong enough for you to get a good base on the board which goes hand in hand with keeping your balance. If your legs are strong enough to keep you balanced on your board, and your upper body is able to contain the pull of the kite, then learning the moves and tricks will be a cakewalk! In addition to I would suggest for you to spend some time learning to fly a regular kite.

I know this sounds stupid but that's how alot of my friends started out kite surfing. You learn to fly a kite so you can see how wind windows work and how it affects the direction of kites! my friends said that this is the best thing they did before going out in to the water! I hope i helped!

  2. your arms definatly..too hold on..your legs..calves..for stability on the board...limber up ur back..neck muscles..it may sound weird..but you need to be able to keep ur neck stable..well theres some i would work on

  3. I do mostly core excercises. don't focus too much on 1 particular muscle because many will be used.  Abs, back, and arms seem to be used the most when I'm out there. Don't neglect your lower body also!!! drink plenty water!!
