  9. Elizabeth Sybella

Micheal Jerome (no funky spelling with apostrophes)

  10. Michael Ja'Rome

    Elizabeth Sybella

  12. I don't like Diamond at ALL. Sorry.

Michael is cool too.  and Ja'Rome isn't bad.

  13. Elizabeth and Micheal

  16. I like Elizabeth Sybella and Michael Ja'Rome.

  17. My children are also biracial...I'm white and my husband's black.  I think Shy'Taye is particularly cute, maybe even worthy of being the first name!  Ja'Vonnte is really unique and neat sounding, too.

  18. elizabeth sybella and micheal ja'rome

  19. i would choose diamond and micheal.

  20. i like elizabeth sybella

    and micheal ja'rome

  21. Please don't name your child Diamond.

I mean, I suppose it's alright, but your child might be made fun of in school, depending the school she's attending.

I like Elizabeth Sybella a lot, though. Different.

For boys, I pick Michael Ja'Rome

  22. Yes, you're right. A lot of Black people DO stick ridiculous apostrophes in the middle of names along with misplaced capital letters. Now, if you would, please explain why. I've never understood chopping up a name and throwing in odd grammatical marks and caps in the middle.

For those who automatically think other races are inferior, you've just branded your child that way. It doesn't matter that it's not true. What matters is your child will have to face that kind of discrimination based only on his/her name.

Additionally, the government's computers are not exactly cutting edge. The system at Social Security is so old that it cannot properly handle hyphenated names like Jones-Garcia. Apostrophes or diacritical marks (é as in Reneé) are always botched in the system. The é symbol has thus become an apostrophe and names like this get totally messed up.

Obviously, naming a child is your choice but please give some thought to the child who has to live with the consequences.

I've always thought these fabricated names were often bizarre. If you'd like to stay with your culture why not use African and Hispanic names such as

    ADANNA EMELINA (nn Danni)

    GABRIEL AMADI  (nn Gabe)

    .........................................

    ADANNA  Gender: Feminine

    Usage: Igbo

    Means "father's daughter" in Igbo.

    EMELINA  Gender: Feminine

    Usage: Spanish

Latinate form of Ameline which means work

    GABRIEL  Gender: Masculine

Usage: French, German, Scandinavian, Spanish, Portuguese, English, Romanian, Polish, Biblical

    Pronounced: ga-bree-EL (French), g*y-bree-əl (English), GAHP-ryel (Polish)

From the Hebrew name גַבְרִיאֵל (Gavri'el) meaning "strong man of God". Gabriel was one of the seven archangels in Hebrew tradition. He appears in both the Old Testament and the New Testament, where he serves as the announcer of the births of John to Zechariah and Jesus to Mary. According to Islamic tradition he was the angel who dictated the Qur'an to Muhammad

    AMADI Gender: Masculine

    Usage: Igbo

    Means "free man" in Igbo

This way you honor both cultures.

  23. If I had to choose, I would say Elizabeth Sybella.  Elizabeth is a very pretty name, it's classic and beautiful.  Sybella is kind of weird, but, it could grow on me and it's a middle name anyway.  Sounds good with Elizabeth.  And boy name, I would says Michael Ja'Rome.  Although, I'd spell Ja'Rome, Jerome.
