I really like Helene instead. If I had to choose from the above names I'd pick Ellen.

I really don't like either, they remind me of old ladies. But, if i had to choose one it would probably be Ellen because if she hates that name she can ask people to call her Elle or Ellie.

I don't really like either one. They seem too old fashioned now a days, but if I had to choose it would be Ellen. Then you could call her Ellie (which is cute).

I like them both but prefer Helen because it ages better. Helen is classic and beautiful. You could still call her Elen as a NN if you wanted. Everyone keeps saying these names sound old but I would rather have a name like one of these than a name that will go out of style like a pair of neon legwarmers.

Ellen because it's very girly and not as old fasioned as Helen. When I think of Ellen I think of a cute little blond girl.

Ellen because it seems more modern. I think it is cool if you spell it Ellan. Then you can call her Ella for short. Ella is such a cute nickname for a little girl. But if you spell it Ellen you can call her Elle(pronounced Ellie). I think that's really pretty too.

I like Ellen better. Why? Ellen is one of my friends name. My grandma's name is Helen (not that I don't love her, I just find Ellen more modern.)
