Susan seems too short and boring for a good name, no offense. That's just my opinion.

And for the name Alexandra, you could always use the nicknames Ally and Alex, which I think are both good nicknames.

Definately Alexandra, but I much prefer it as Alissandra...pretty much the same, but for some reason I like that one better.  Good luck!

I vote Susan!

I know most people prefer Alexandra, but that's exactly why I don't like it.  It's become far too popular, and when you add in all the Alexa's, Alexis's, Alexandria's, and Alexia's, there are quite a few little "Alex's" running around.  Alexandra is pretty, but it bores me.

Susan does sound a bit more dated, but it won a place in my heart through the Chronicles of Narnia character.  If you're looking for something that sounds flowy and feminine (like Alexandra) and seems ready for a comeback, you might consider the lovely Susanna.

Susan isn't a very common name anymore, & its traditional, I also love Suzie as a Nickname, or Sue.

Alexandra is quite common in TN ( where i'm from )
