It depends... Esther is more elegant and sophisticated. Plus it is biblical =] Jane is pretty, sweet and lively. It depends on which qualities you prefer although it really is going to depend on the personality.

Esther - is often considered to be an ugly girl's name by many people. So my choice is between plain Jane and ugly Esther. No thanks. You don't have to be off the wall in the creativity department, but a lil' bit would be nice...some of the other names you suggested are much better.

My mother would kill me if I didn't take this opportunity to point out that Jayne can be spelt with a Y. It's her first name, and my middle name, and she always laments "plain Jane"s.

So there's my entire contribution lol. And I like either Esther OR Jayne, but not the plain Jane so much.
