Question:

Which name do you prefer?

I'm starting an on-line business for vintage clothing -- problem is, I can't decide between two store-names:

Strawberry Koi (for my love of strawberries, which is a romantic sensual fruit - and "Koi" a beautiful fish, but also means "deep or passionate love" in Japanese... reflecting my european and Japanese heritage.

The Twinkle of Tea (a subtle reference to an Alice in Wonderland quote, and I am a big fan of Alice in Wonderland and it's vintage vibe)

Which sounds better?

  1. I like Strawberry Koi (Or perhaps A twinkle of Koi? a combination of both?) hehehe, oh just leaning toward Koi^^

  2. Don't misunderstand, but I'm not certain that either name is a good one for a vintage clothing store. If I'm looking for vintage clothing, I won't search for Strawberry Koi or Twinkle of Tea. I'm going to search for vintage clothing.

While you can certainly put such things in your meta-tags, if you could tie the vintage clothing angle into your domain name, you'll move up higher in the search engines. And that's HUGE with an online store.

  3. No doubt - Strawberry Koi

  4. Strawberry koi it sounds more distinctive

  5. I`m sorry to say, neither one strikes me as a catchy and attention getting name for vintage clothes.

What about something like Victorian Romance, or Somewhere in time?

  6. STRAWBERRY KOI SOUNDS TIGHT. AND THERES A GOOD MEANING TO THE NAME. IF ANYONE WOULD ASK YOU'D JUST TELL THEM! HEHE =]

  7. You have the right idea.  For me I like Strawberry but not Koi.  Koi is a fish.  That just isn't as luscious as a strawberry.  Use something with Strawberry, such as Strawberry Hill,  Blueberry Hill (I know that is a change.).  "Strawberries & Cream", etc.

    Good Luck to you.  jd

  8. Why not google each name and see if it comes up, if it doesn't then that's the one you pick because you want it to come up on top page in the search engines which benefits your business.

  9. Strawberry Koi :) the other one sounds like a tea store's name

  10. I like Strawberry Koi a lot.  It sounds a little exotic.  Twinkle of Tea sounds kind of like a kids bed time story or nursery rhyme.

  11. A Twinkle Of Tea would be better, as Strawberry Koi gives off a pink/red feel.

The second does give off a vintage feel, more so than Strawberry, which sounds more modern and cute.

Whichever you choose, I wish you luck and success!

  12. Strawberry Koi sounds better to me, and would also lend itself to created logo a little better
