Which name is cooler for a boy Jet or Kristian?

I like the name Jet for a boy. My husband says NO way so we both sort of agreed on Kristian-Krist for short, like Krist Novoselic. But we have a son named Shaun so there will be this Nip/Tuck reference there I'm not too fond of. Husband says Jet is weird & kids will pick on him but is that really true in this day & age?

  1. Ok, well first off, in ANY day and age your kid WILL get picked on. Whether it's for his name, or something else, it's going to happen. If they can't make fun of his name, they'll just find something else. You just have to teach your kid how to deal with it, and not let it bother him.

I think that since all kids get made fun of, you might as well make it something worthwhile. I think it's better to get made fun of for an awesome, unusual name than for something silly like his hair color, or freckles, glasses, being too tall, being to short, too fat, or too thin, intelligence, lack of intelligence... ... ...

Personally, I like Jet. I don't like Kristian because I don't like the letter K, and because I'm not religious. Krist is kinda nice, but Jet really is much better.

EDIT: I agree, Jet Black is awesome. Thats who I though of right away when I saw your question. Jet Li is great too, but I didn't think of him untill I saw your additional details.

  2. Jet is one of the coolest names I have ever heard.

  3. I dont like the name Kristian at all. But i do like Jet, it would make a great nickname, I cant really see a professonal man going by the name Jet so yeah id use it as a nick name if you can find one.

  4. Kristian

  5. Jett is okay but I would prefer Christian ( Chris). DO NOT! spell it with a K because the girl's version is spelled that way and it looks like a girls name.. probably would get made fun of.

  6. Kristian, but spell it Christian.  Kristian looks too feminine.

  7. I really dislike Jet. I love Kristian but spelled Christian is even better!*

  8. I like Christian.

Jet is a cool nickname for something...

definitely won't get picked on though. these days kids don't get picked on for their names. they make their unusual names enviable by their strong individual personalities!

  9. Kristian.  Jet is ridiculous!  Sorry, I'm just being honest.

  10. Jet is very cool - individual!!!!

Krist???? Not 2 fond of that!

My sister wants to name her next little boy jet but she will spell it with a  double t ---- Jett.

  11. I really don't like Jet...  It kind of smacks of "Oh, I'm so cool!" Just my personal opinion. It also reminds me of something you might name a puppy rather than a baby - I'm sorry!

However, I really love Kristian - especially with the K.

I didn't even realize there WAS a Nip/Tuck reference with using those two names... I'm sure there are plenty of people who don't watch that show, or even have HBO (it IS on HBO, right? LOL), so they won't get the reference, either.

  12. Hubby is right on the money..Don't name your kid Jet.

Christian  ( I prefer this spelling)  is a wonderful name .

Nip/Tuck? Please, it's only a tv show ..it's not real.

Name the kid Christian or Kristian

  13. Jett is great!, Kristian is nerdy - pompous in the UK anyway...

  14. Kristian is a really nice name, but whenever anyone says 'Jet' it reminds me and almost anyone else in the UK of the female performer on the t.v. show Gladiators (if you don't get that show in the U.S., it basically involved grown men and women running about in spandex trying to hit each other with sticks).

Plus it's ridiculous... don't do it! Kristian is lovely

  15. Once you're a Jet, you're always a Jet.

Sorry had to throw in a WestSide Story moment.

I think Jet is a very different name, of course certain people won't like it, but I do.  It would go along with my desire to name my daughter Seven.  Can't tell ya' why I just love it.

he could be Jet Jameseson or Jeffery Jet ot even Jett, and be nicked JJ or go with the second name if he absolutely hated it, but I bet he wouldn't.....and I don't even think he's be made fun of.  So tell your husband to stuff it. heh.

  16. I prefer Jett.  Such a cool name!  Kristian (spelt that way) looks girlish to me.

  17. Jet!

  18. Jet.   way cool! everyone nane is kristion... it ound kind of g*y to me.
