  1. Cup regulars: Jeff Gordon, Jimmie Johnson, Tony Stewart, Robby Gordon. There are others. Don't stress.

Not so Cup regulars: Boris Said, Patrick Carpentier, Juan Pablo Montoya, Marcos Ambrose. There are others....same rules apply as above! :-)

These are the ones that came to my mind as I sat here and typed.

Oh, why:...because they have talent, skill, patience, and a little bit of daring. (Thats a nice word for Cojones)

  2. Jeff Gordon, because he has won the most races on road courses and he is always competitive in them.

  3. Jeff Gordon grew up racing on road courses, so i would have to say him, plus he's good at every track

  4. Gotta be Jeff and Tony. Look at the results. A couple of good old fashioned USAC dirt trackers.

  5. Montoya, he is incredible

  6. Tony Stewart, Kevin Harvick, Boris Said, Ron Fellows, Marcos Ambrose

  7. Marcos Ambrose because he won the race today.

Kevin Harvick because he's won alot of road course races.

Ron Fellows because he won last week.

Jeff Gordon because he's won alot of road course races.

Robby Gordon because he's won a few road course races.

  8. kyle petty

because he's letting boris said drive his car

  9. Well other than the ones that most people will mention (Stewart, the Busch bros, Both Gordons, and other well known road course ringers) another guy who is very good but barely ever gets mentioned is Kevin Harvick. Just look at his stats in both NW and Cup....

    Nationwide:

Watkins Glen - 5 Starts, 1 Win, 4 Top Fives, 5 Top Tens, avg finish 3.5

Mexico City - 2 starts, 0 wins, 2 top fives, 2 top tens, avg finish 2.5

Montreal - 1 start, 1 win, 1 top five, 1 top ten, avg finish 1.0

Overall -  7 starts, 2 wins, 6 top fives, 7 top tens, and an avg finishing position of 2.9

Thats all but 1 top five finish in every start.

Now in Cup he has been bitten with some bad luck his past few starts but still not too bad of numbers...

Even after the mishap with Montoya last year after running in the top 5 almost all day he still has an avg finishing position of 12.0, a win, and 4 top tens in 7 starts.

He is also very good at Sonoma but has really had some tough luck there whether it be bad pit strategy or being taken out by his or another drivers mistake. He is almost always running if not in, near the top 5 most of the time at that track.

And by looking at the way his car was handling in practice today I think the leaders will have to deal with that #29 car tomorrow before the day is done. That is if they get to race, hopefully the rain will hold off and they will get it in.

  10. road courses are alot about experience, its easier to drive on a big oval that on a track with so many twists and turns, not to mention you have to know when to pass and when to not. so you would prolly have to go with people who have run road courses more than the others.

  11. Jeff Gordon and Tony Stewart all have a lot of wins on road courses..Robby Gordon is good as well, and also Kevin Harvick.

    Go Dale Jr & Hms

  12. CARL EDWARDS!!!!!!!!!!!

  13. i hate to admit it but it is jeff gordon. he is a smart driver and smooth on road courses, knows when to pass and be passed.

  14. Robby Gordon and the JGR trio come to mind immediately.

  15. rowdy's on a roll this year - two firsts and a second in his three road course appearances so far. and ambrose, what can you say, he has been AMAZING, even with his minor problems at montreal (this year and last) and at sonoma.

overall, however, you can't make a better bet than tony or jeff... and robby gordon and harvick are good there as well. and let's not forget mark martin - he won three in a row at the glen (1993-1995) and has finished in the top-10 in over 70% of his starts there...

  16. Of the regular cup drivers, Jeff Gordon. His record on road courses is fantastic. He seems to really know how to drive them.

  17. Jeff Gordon

Because he has 9 road course wins...

  18. Ambrose now!!

He got some Roush/Yates h.p. under the hood
