  2. Jupiter has 63 known satellites or moons (whichever term you prefer).

    The Four major and largest moons are called the Galiean moons; Callisto, Ganymede, Io, and Europa.

    In accordance to our own moon, which is doesn't reflect much sunlight (only 12%), but is so bright, only because it's so close to us, you can compare and correlate in reference to Jupiter's moons with brightness.

    The Closest and Brightest would be "Io" orbiting Jupiter every 1.77 days.

    Ganymede is the Largest and third closest, however it may not consititute the Brightest; it's orbital period is every 7.16 days.
