Question:

Which of my current outfielders will get me the most trade value?

I want to upgrade my outfield by packaging one of my OFs with Ryan Doumit to a team that is lacking at catcher.

My OFs that I would consider trading are:

Torii Hunter

Abreu

McLouth

Which one will get me the most trade value relative their second half numbers. Hunter has been pretty underwhelming, but I would get when his team heats up he'll get better.

My gut tells me that McLouth won't have the same name value in six weeks that he has right now. Is this probably the correct impression? Are there any odds that he'll be traded to a better team which might increase his productivity?

  1. I try packaging each of them. They basically have the same value. One guy might like Hunter. Another guy might like Abreu. I'd have to agree with you about McLouth. You should try selling high on him. I don't see him getting traded, but if he does, I doubt that would increase his production. Good luck!

  2. I think that Abreu is the one you should pair up with Doumit.  McLouth doesn't play for a contender, so pitchers won't really worry about pitching around him (unless it's a close game), therefore he should continue to see good pitches and he should continue putting up good numbers.

Abreu plays for a perennial contender and is slumping, I really don't see him improving much over the 2nd half (and he's getting old).
