Yes trilogy... Evil Dead, Evil Dead 2, and Army of Darkness for those who aren't true fans. Seriously though, I liked the second one the best probably for the sheer morbid humor of it. Like when Ash was laughing when he cut of his hand. I did really like Army of Darkness too though, especially with the book in the graveyard..... Also, can anyone in all of acting scream better than Bruce Campbell (Someone's in my fruit cellar.... someone with a fresh soul" ..... not to mention did you know that's the only reason they cast him for the movie Congo)? Best answer goes to the person who answers all aspects of the question. Feel free to email me if you'd like to talk further by the way!

  1. He he he Boom Stick!

  2. I like the original the best.  The scene in the woods, lol and when he cuts the woman up on the floor.  Even though the laughter drove me nuts, it was funny.  And I liked the pencil in the ankle...

  3. It has to be the Original!!  I saw it when it first came out and it scared the c**p out of me.  I really liked the sequels for the comedy.  I didn't find them scary at all but, Bruce Campbell is hilarious!  When it comes down to it though, I love a good scare.  This is where the first one delivers.

  4. army of darkness is by far the best one. i love the travel through time, and the intor to the boom stick, the "shop smart, shop S mart, YOU GOT THAT" and his double is great whan they are fighting in the grave yard before he burys him.  classic through and through

  5. I like the first one best. I saw the first one back in 1995 when it was still banned in the UK. Four of my mates and I got ourselves an illegal pirate video with beer, and we all laughed our asses off all the way through, though we were sometimes sickened (by the shaky cameras as well as what was happening on the screen).

It wasn't just that experience that drew me to the film however - I just thought, overall, that it was a better film than the others. The second and third each had some stunning and funny moments - and Bruce is certainly a great performer, able to carry the second film himself alone for nearly half an hour - but each also had weak parts that let them down. The first one never lets up. So I'll have to disagree with you.

I assume you know that the third one comes in two versions, with different endings? If not, did you also know that even after Part 1 was un-banned in the UK, the 'rape by a tree' remained cut out of the film until 2001?

  6. none i like them all

  7. Oh the second one by far, with Army of Darkness coming in 2nd.

I agree that Bruce Campbell is one of the very best scream guys in Hollywood today, and I can see why he was brought in for that (basically) cameo role in Congo.  As far as Evil Dead 2 goes........

Henrietta: I'll swallow your soul! I'll swallow your soul! I'll swallow your soul!

Ash: [Aims shotgun at Henrietta's face] Swallow this.

    Classic!

  8. I think the first was probably the best. It was gross, but the other two are too campy.
