But if you are talking about the highest percentage of a population supporting their rugby team then it is probably NZ

"Most supporters" will depend on the size of their population I think the question should rather be based on a percentage. And percentage wise I reckon NZ has 98% support from the entire population. SA does pretty well (Ama-bokke-bokke etc etc.)despite the polarization in sport along racial lines ie. die hard soccer supporters vs rugby supporters.

The British Isles also have a large percentage of their population that supports their team. They are generally good supporters of their national teams which can be highly annoying because they like to let you know it in a most irritating manner.

All Blacks without a shadow of a doubt. Percentage wise their support is huge is NZ. Most of the Poms are fairweather fans who will go back to soccer after this, same as Argentineans.

If it's percentages, then NZ wins hands down. The entire nation is rugby-mad! Every other sport pales into insignificance compared to supporting the ABs. But if it is sheer numbers, then it's got to be England. Although England lacks in percentage (the majority of sporting fans in England prefer football), the sheer weight of numbers of rugby fans ensures that even a 10% of population fanbase in-favour of rugby means that they have a fanbase in the region of 5million ... that's MORE than the entire population of New Zealand!!!!

before or after playoffs?  im guessing it USED to be NZ... but they're pretty tough after a loss.... argentina might be more willing to continue to support past the loss!  :-)

population wise,Fiji,TONGA AND SAMOA,their whole nations support them,id say 99.9% supporters thats their no.1 sport and every man and his dog support the national teams
