Jeff Beck without a doubt.  Clapton and Page wouldn't argue the point. I would say that Page was the best songwriter though.

Jimmy Page.....he was the one who took the guitar one step further than the others and experimented with different sounds.

Clapton is good, but he's stuck in the "slow hand" mode.

Jeff Beck was just too darn full of himself......great guitarist, but he never really did anything with it in the 70's...other than when he played with Jan Hammer.

Clapton is the best musician of the bunch, but Beck is by far the best guitar player.
