  1. Barnacles are very closely related to shrimp, and they are as mobile as other shrimp when young.  But as they mature, they pick out a spot, build a shell around themselves, and spend the rest of their lives standing on their heads kicking food into their mouths with their feet, so they are both mobile and sedentary at different times in their lives.


  2. I would say that they're sedentary in the polyp stage (the stage where they attach to stuff), because they can't move around, just attach to a surface that might be capable of its own movement. During their medusa stage they can move around, so then they would be mobile.

  3. Barnacles are sendentary... they don't move. at one point they are moblie... but they lose that to be able to calcify.
