  1. E- Other ; beaurucracy

Because many agree on most things that need to be changed... and problems and how they should be fixed, but it seems like nobody does anything and that all the studies and plans on various issues end up being in someones drawer for years.

    Unemployment

Income from sources other than oil being important

    Corruption

    Codifying the law

Importance of the Majlis Al Shooras being direct law-makers.

I mean so many issues can come under one thing.

Even women working in certain jobs at stores ( or something like that ) , the law passed, but was never applied... and the reason is the same reason that makes many men unemployed, so its something affecting all citizens from all genders... but nothing changes for that reason...

Knowing that, its funny when some jump and say why dont you have this or that for women in Saudi, in such a very simplistic way... not understanding its not about women, its about decision making and its affecting men and women alike.

I can include everything under beaurucracy therefore thats my choice.... so E

  3. well although there is a smattering of A,B,C and D maybe going on already..

i'll have to say E. other..

its the dependance on foreign unskilled laborers we have currently..

Why do you see more drivers, housemaids, and all these low skill jobs being taken by foreigners that dont know our culture, dont know language, dont have common sense and just seem to ruin everything..

The drivers cant drive, the maids dont know diddly.. but yet we seem to import millions daily... I wish we would get rid of all them.. allow women to drive, and make women take on domestic duties themselves like in the past.. Only the ill/sick, hadicapped, or those women who dont have access to family help to daycare to allow to have a maid.. and then, employ saudi people that need the work instead of foreigners..

in USA the garbage collecters are one of the highest paid jobs for laborers.. Construction workers are paid a lot in USA... why here they are the lowest and unskilled, un schooled and no knowledge whatsover about any of the machines, equipment or anything.. Its amazing our cars and buildings and machinery stands up to it..

  5. in my opinion it is the D

our government institutions are so beauracratic and unefficient to implement any reformation to most sectors

most of the problems here will go away with good economic reformation, and we got the money to do it. and in the last few years, there has been great allocation and planning for this money to do a lot of changes.

so, unemployment should get less, infrastructures should be improved, education should have a major shift. there should be many different cities built in the country. in the west, in the south, in the north, and other projects. this should lead to reverse migration, from big cities to smaller ones.

saudi arabia should look like one of modern countries, where if you drive to the smaller cities you find people with good standards from education to services to jobs.

now, if you drive 30 minutes outside jeddah or riyadh, you might find different world.

the plans and the budget are there. lemme talk about the plan of education, my favorite one:

it was allocation of 12 billion riyals (something around that) for changing the education system from spoon feeding into thinking and creativity. this budget has nothing to do with building new schools. but, in raising the levels of teachers, educating them, and providing them with modern digital facilities to cope with the world trends.

what all of this is lacking is the implementation. the people in the ministries and different institutions are so laid back and there are a lot of corruption that does not make things happen.

this why there are 2 projects going with great pace, both are done with companies, not ministries:

    - The Economic city by Emaar

    - The new Univerisity by Aramco

  6. the person above me has a point

  7. i think B)

other problems are happening every where, so you can deal with them in many ways depending on international experiences.

    B) is Saudi specialty.

  8. others:

    bad driving

    illiteracy of all kinds

    ...........

  9. C) all the way.  C leads to D, B, A and a lot of E. Our cultures are being prostituted to the western liberals!!!!!  So much suffering because of the west...it sickens me.

-la illaha illallah, muhammadir wa rasulallah

  10. E) Other - the attitude of people....

.....if there's no discipline and good attitude in following the rules, policies and regulations set by the govt. it is detrimental to the country......for example, you'll see reckless drivers everyday in the road, you'll see cars in the cities just park their car as they like even it blocks the road as if they dont care (there are so many cases of this cars parked everywhere), you'll see drivers beat the red light on the intersection, etc. I just state simple examples that shows lack of discipline, patience and respect to others.....

  11. الله يلعنك و يلعن السعوديه ازعجتنا .. كأننا مالنا هم الا السعوديه .. اذا كنت رجال تعال هنا للسعوديه و تعذب معنا

  12. B) Religious - but nonviolent - extremists

  13. B) Religion is something you can't wipe away with fear.  Whereas I can kill a whole family of liberals and everyone will cow in fear, the religious will blink because they believe that they will be awarded in heaven (think Muslim extremists.)
