  2. Both euglenoids and dinoflagellates have chloroplasts but can also be heterotrophic.

    Euglena spp. can expel chloroplasts when there is insufficient light and become heterotrophic.  Some dinoflagellates can do this as well, including the zooxanthella genus Symbiodinium.
