  1. E

  2. I would say e. because height is due to natural selection, although weight i'm not sure about.

  3. The human "Y" gene that's passed on through the mother, this constitutes the future of the past generation but, also passes on the worst of the last race. The male constitutes the differences of the two and, adds another gene to create a difference in the race.

        I would have to say the weight of the newer generations from "fast foods" this generation is the laziest, with their eating habits. It's easier to run into McDonald's and get a huge cheese burger and fries along with a large drink, then to go home and make a nutritious meal.

         We eat fish at least once, sometimes twice a week. About six ounces of red meat twice a week but, white meat (fowl) the rest of the week with little to no fat.

  4. A.  None of the others.

    ==

    Reasoning:

    B - more likely due to isolation and genetic drift

    C - more likely due to genetic drift... it's deleterious!

    D - likely due to changes in nutrition

    E - likely due to changes in diet and nutrition

  5. E.  Although nutrition and exercise clearly have a huge impact on height and weight, there is a clear genetic component that is based on natural selection.

    Bergmann and Allen hypothesized that people living in cold climates would be short and round, with short limbs, to retain as much heat as possible.  On the other hand, those in warm climates would want to be tall and slender, with long limbs, in order to disperse heat effectively.

    We DO generally find this pattern - compare the average Inuit to the average Aboriginal Australian.
