The reason for this question isn't for my homework (I've been out of school for over a decade), and I do know the answer. But I'm amazed by how many people don't know what impeachment is.

Before people answer blindly, allow me to present the proper definition of impeachment.

Imp * Peach * Ment [im-peech-muhnt]

- noun

1. the impeaching of a public official before an appropriate tribunal.

2. (in Congress or a state legislature) the presentation of formal charges against a public official by the lower house, trial to be before the upper house.

3. demonstration that a witness is less worthy of belief.

4. the act of impeaching

5. the state of being impeached.

Now then. With that OFFICIAL definition of impeachment, here are your three choices. Two of these Presidents WERE impeached, and one of these Presidents WAS NOT impeached. Your goal is to select which of the three WAS NOT impeached.

A. Andrew Johnson

B. Richard Nixon

C. Bill Clinton

  4. Richard Nixon got caught doing what they all do, there were grounds

laid for the impeaching process, but being the man he was, Richard

Nixon reigned the post and saved the taxpayers a bundle of money.

The trial or impeachment does not mean the subject leaves office, only if found guilty, we learn this in grade school.  Johnson only escaped

being removed by one vote, in other words, only by the hair on his chin chin chin was he saved, Clinton faired a little better, the taxpayers paid for his hot episode while it was going on and then to clear him from harm after it was over!  Now to more serious things, Go McCain in 2008!

  5. Of the three, the answer is Nixon.  He had the sense to resign.

Interestingly, we've not yet had a president removed from office.

  6. Richard Nixon resigned before he could be impeached.

  7. Nixon

  8. there NEVER was a President impeached

just because proceding. were started does NOT meant tey were completed

so the CORRECT answer is "All of the presidents were NEVER impeached"

*Congress consists of BOTH the House of Representatives AND Senate*

Presidents Andrew Johnson and Bill Clinton were impeached by the U.S. House of Representatives, but acquitted by the Senate. Richard Nixon resigned before he could be impeached.

  9. Nixon ran like the dog he was he RESIGNED rather than face the facts and then Jerry pardoned him for his wrong doings that's the Republican way.  I was alive when this happened and I remember it like it was yesterday. and more i have along memory
