You can't touch them.  There is a rope fence around it.  Go on the Sun Down tour...its gorgeous at sun down.  But don't get your hopes up about the stonehendge...its not that spectacular.

The above information is incorrect. You can to book with one of the specialist tour companies that organizes early morning or late evening access during the summer. Then you can get inside the circle and touch the stones. it costs more though. Look up the tour companies on the Web.
