We are thinking of moving there but don't want to live in Indianapolis. My husband would work in the city so we don't want to be too far out. Any suggestions and why do you thing that is a good area?

(any places to avoid??)

  1. My sister lives in Fischers. Its a lovely area and the school district is great.

  2. I live in Crawfordsville  It's about a 35 minute trip to the edge of Indy.  It takes me about 45 to 50 minutes to get downtown.  It's a great town that has a lot to offer but is pretty far out.

Avon is a nice area as is Brownsburg but the traffic is really bad in both places.  Both of those towns are pretty big.  My cousin lived in Brownsburgh for a few years and liked it.  She lived in a smaller neighborhood that was pretty far out of town.  That gave it a smaller town feel.  Clelrmont which is close to both is more like a small town atmosphere.  Most of the suburbs around Indianapolis seem pretty nice.  The crime rate seems highest in the Speedway/38th street area.
