This is a trick question.  Any of the birds can be housed alone and happy as long as they have social interaction with their human companions. Some budgies and cockatiels get mirrors and the bird gets enchanted with their own refection.  

ALL birds need socialization and outside time.  If you house birds together you will lose the bond they have with their human and they can even get nippy.

Also their talking ability is terrible when they are with another bird because they have another bird to talk to and feel no need to communicate with their human.  

The bird that will get really physically ill by being housed alone are the finches.  They do not tend to have a human connection and need the flock for survival.
