  1. I'm pretty sure that Slaughterhouse-Five is the shortest, but One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest and The Dharma Bums are pretty short as well. I'd go with One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, as it's pretty straightforward. Slaughterhouse-Five is a bit more cerebral.


  2. i have only read one, the hunt for red october... its ok, but it isn't THAT short. bbut it isn't long either...

  3. They're all fairly long, but I think 'Slaughterhouse Five' is probably the shortest (that I know of) and luckily is pretty damned entertaining. They're all fairly heavy duty novels though, although I haven't read the Clancy or McCullers so I can't speak for those two.
