Give all they can. There is a huge, and growing, gap between rich and poor, even in the so called developed countries like America, Australia and the UK. However small the donation, it can still help to make life better for someone.

In fact, I feel that charitable donations should be made automatically from salaries before tax, unless you opt out of the scheme.

One's time, energy, money and other resources in the world are limited, so moderation is best---answer no. 3.

Giving all makes one poor and feeling generous but stupid, getting all makes him greedy and uncivilized. Lots of stress when you go extreme, so it is wise to follow the restrained, the middle way.

I think one needs to balance it.  If you just give give and give some more, with no reciprocation you will eventually feel used and may well turn one sour.  I think a clean balance between the two is necessary for positive self esteem.

I would like to be able to get what I NEED.

Getting what I WANT .. is nice BUT not important.

If My wants step on the NEEDS of others... then that isn't good.

YOU can not give ALL because you DO NEED things to survive.....but why should I get ALL .. when others NEED some.

sorry BUT i think it's my socialistic heart. I can not take what others need.. just because I could.

I picked (2) because...

You can never get enough... From an economists point of view, the outcome will always be positive! Choosing to will also allow you to choose how much to give, if there was ever a time you wanted to get something off your hands.

Cons of the others...

with (1) you will always end up negative, and (3) at zero... of course if everyone picks (2) then there would never be anything to get because everyone is holding it all... So in society there must be a balance... but individually it's "every man for themselves," take and get everything you need/want.
