Which of these do you think best describes what council road planner's do?

A) They maintain our roads to keep traffic flowing in a safe manner.

B) They implement road changes to increase congestion in an effort to persude more people out of their cars in the long run.

C) They just make any changes to look busy and keep their annual budgets, never mind the effect on traffic.

I really cant tell, please advise me.

  1. b and c....on regular trips we try to figure out if the layout was made up on..the old programme... lotus 123.. remember that....designers have to use this out of date 1970's programme due to lack of tax income from road tax.....and roads layout are never tested for practicality as its far too expensive..even using dinky toys..notable state of the art examples of lotus 123 designing are m6-m65 interchange..when approaching from the south.and....the island by sainsbury redditch..which lane was that again...you can add to the list if you like...

  4. Im afraid Im gonna sit on the fence , I think theres a bit of truth in A B and C . Dunno where they come up with some road layouts though - mind boggling

  5. D) Have long lunches and annoy motorists by implementing plans that the spotty little grad on work experience has suggested to them.

    I've been told by someone who works in the roads department that pretty much sums it up!
