  1. Duran

    Sanchez

    Lopez

    Robinson

    Marciano

    Ali

    Dempsey

    Monzon

  2. duran outpoints pryor in the fight of the decade

    pep outpoints sanchez

galaxy is naturally bigger than lopez and at the lower weights, that makes all the difference.......galaxy by decision, even if he has to get off the floor to do it.

early '50s robinson over hagler, but hagler over the mid to late '50s robinson

dempsey - marciano is a pick 'em, but i pick the rock on points or late kayo based on his undefeated record.

    ali outpoints louis

monzon - hagler........if push came to shove, monzon by narrowest of margins.

duran - pryor would probably be my dream fight out of all these.

  3. 1.Roberto Duran vs Aaron Pryor

Duran!!!what a boxer, one of my favorites

    2.Joe Louis vs Muhammad Ali

Now that is a tough one, but id recon ali..!!

  4. All answers above me are good but obviously they didn't read the question. You ask them to pick one, not all. Here is my pick Jack Dempsey vs Rocky Marciano. It will be a war and Rocky will win in the end by unanimous decision or 13-15th round stoppage but he will look like he is in a automobile accident after the fight.

  5. NONE (wheres Cotto or Trinidad???)

  6. duran vs pryor   winner would be me and you

  7. Duran/Pryor. Duran by split decision. Both men at this weight (I'm assuming they fight at jr.welter although Duran never fought at this weight)were extremely busy fighters. Pryor's work rate was higher, Duran defense was better and he was a genius at getting inside, staying inside and rolling with the punches. Duran would make Pryor miss just enough and do effective work on the inside. Rematch anyone?

Pep/Sanchez. Salvador by a split decision. The deciding factor would be Sanchez's ability to counter punch, not be baited by Pep's feints and scrape in enough effective body work to win by a razor thin margin. If this man had lived he may have been #2 behind Robinson on many P4P lists. (Dundee and Leonard were of the same opinion in reference to Sanchez)

Galaxy/Lopez. I saw Galaxy fight while I was stationed in Korea in '88. He was a southpaw slugger that applied constant pressure. Lopez was a slick boxer with a tight textbook defense and boxing style. Lopez would neutralize Galaxy's pressure with accurate counter punching and footwork (he would turn Galaxy when needed and spin off the ropes when necessary). Lopez by UD.

Robinson/Hagler. Robinson P4P the best ever and the best welterweight ever. When he stepped up to middleweight he was beatable. If Turpin, Basilio, Fullmer, and Pender could turn the trick Hagler is more than capable of pulling the upset.

Hagler would pressure Robinson as Basilio did (Hagler was better fighter than Basilio) and win a decision over Robby.

Dempsey/The Rock. The Rock wouldn't knock out The Manassa Mauler but he would outhustle him to a decision victory. At the end of the fight both men would be bloody and battered.

Louis/Ali. The Joe Louis of 1939 against the Muhammad Ali of 1966 wouldn't be an easy fight for Ali. Louis wouldn't be able to deal with Ali's speed of hand or foot, that's the deciding factor. Ali would be wary of Louis' power and would not exchange with The Brown Bomber. Ali wins a decision based on his dominant foot work and jab/ right cross combination.

Dempsey/Louis. An intriguing match up. Louis was technically superior to Dempsey, fought more often than Dempsey, and he threw the shorter sharper combinations. The Brown Bomber by late round TKO if he can weather Dempsey's early round onslaughts.

Monzon/Hagler. Might be the best out all these matchups. Monzon, the long, tall lanky middle weight with the probing jab and excellent right cross against the boxer/slugger Hagler. As great as Monzon was Hagler is the more well rounded fighter. Hagler by decision due to his effective work on the inside, his ability to pressure Monzon, and Monzon's iron chin. Hagler would have to suck it up as he would be swelled up from Monzon's probing jab and right cross.

    Great Matchups Toughguy!

Toughguy ~ I couldn't pick one they are all great matches!!!!

  8. Joe Louis vs Muhammad Ali:

The reason I place Louis #2 on my list is because he has an answer for every style except Ali's.  Louis has been dropped more times than Ali.  Ali was never dropped or stopped between winning the title and the exile (his best years).  ........Ali is much better than the BOXER who stopped Louis (Schmeling), granted Louis was young.     ...............Styles make fights.   Anything Billy Conn could do Ali could do MUCH better.

    Ali by clear decision.

    Duran vs Pryor:

There is a big difference in Duran at 135 and Duran above.  Pryor would be KO'd if he fought Duran at 135.  anywhere above until 147 and Pryor takes a decision.

    Robinson vs Hagler:

Leonard won an unimpressive decision over a shopworn Hagler.  He played smart and won the fight before the first bell.  Marvin wasn't so old.  He just fought a dumb fight.  His hatred for Leonard got the best of him,  like Oscar vs Floyd.

Robinson is further ahead of Leonard at 160 than he would be at 147.  Leonard wasn't a great middleweight, just above average.   Robinson brings more power and will land more punches because he would run less.  He wouldn't hurt Hagler.  NO ONE IN HISTORY at 160 would KO Marvin.

    Robinson by decision

    Marciano vs Dempsey:

Dempsey has never faced a fighter like Marciano.  He would hurt Rocky early. He might even score an early knockdown.  But he would fail to finish him.  There would be no "standing over your fallen opponent"  to help Dempsey pad his KO record.

IT's give and take for the first 10 rounds with Rocky's face taking the brunt of the damage.  I'm betting Rocky's the better late-rounds fighter.  Dempsey would have trouble with Rocky's crowding style.

    Marciano by KO in 13

    Louis vs Dempsey:

Louis would learn early that he has to box Dempsey.  Dempsey would hurt him early and might even score a knockdown.  Louis would score often and stop Dempsey in 11

    Monzon vs Hagler:

Monzon would tie Hagler up often and prevent a slug fest, which would be Hagler's best tactic.  Sometimes Carlos didn't train but he would be in shape for this one.

    Monzon by split decision

    Sanchez vs Pep:

Pep would do a lot of running. He keeps Sanchez off balance but that "win a round without landing a punch" wouldn't fly in today's boxing.  Pep should have lost that round.  Its moot now and more due to his popularity than anything else.

Pep runs to a decision loss or stands and fights and gets stopped late.  I dont see Sanchez stopping Pep but.......

    Sanchez W15

  9. These are truely dream matches.  My choices are:

    Pryor

    Pep

    Lopez

    Robinson

    Dempsey

    Ali

    Louis

    Hagler

  10. Roberto Duran vs Aaron Pryor = Hands Of Stone

Willie Pep vs Salvador Sanchez = Sal Sanchez

Khoasai Galaxy vs Ricardo Lopez = Finito Lopez

Sugar Ray Robinson vs Marvin Hagler = Sugar Ray Robinson

Jack Dempsey vs Rocky Marciano = Jack Dempsey

Joe Louis vs Muhammad Ali = Joe Louis

Jack Dempsey vs Joe Louis = Joe Louis

Carlos Monzon vs Marvin Hagler = Marvin Hagler

  11. *At 140, this would be some fight. I go for Duran on a split.

    *Pep wins a UD.

    *At Fly - Galaxy.

    *Robinson squeaks it.

*Rocky. Would have walked Dempsey down and nailed him.

*Ali. Joe Louis had problems with mobile boxers. Look at the first fight with Billy Conn.

*Louis. Too good for Dempsey. Would have kept Jack on the end of his jab, then set him up.

*Monzon was good, but Hagler had that bit of extra quality. Hagler UD.

  12. I would definetely want to see jack dempsey face joe louis, that way all those racist guys that always cry jack dempsey's name when talking about the strongest heavy weights will fall into serious depression after seeing their hero knocked out, i would definetely pay money to see that.

  13. Carlos Monzon v Marvin Hagler 15 rounds, what a fight that would have been, and i pick Monzon as a winner on points.

  14. roberto duran ko14 aaron pryor in one of boxing history greatest slugfest.

  15. i say robinson and hagler and joe louis and muhammed ali

  16. duran pryor-duran by decision

    pep-sanchez-pep by tough decision

    galaxy-lopez-galaxy by easy decision

robinson-hagler-robinson by a tough decision in a brutal fight

    dempsey-marciano-marciano by 5th round kayo

    louis-ali-ali by comfortable decision

dempsey-louis-louis would rip his face to shreds

monzon-hagler-hagler by tough decision in another brutal fight

  17. Out of all these great fights the one I would love to see would be Roberto Duran V. Aaron Pryor. I pick Pryor to win by knock out in the 14th round only because I know that Esteban De Jesus knock Duran down in both of their fights. This would be a no back up fight I,ve seen both fighters hit with everything including the kitchen sink Alexus hit Aaron with a right hand that almost broke his neck. I saw Thomas Hearns hit Duran whit a right hand well the best thing you can say about that punch he got hit with was that he is still alive.

  18. These all would be good fights.  The one that sticks out for me would be Ali - Louis.  Louis had quick hands also but could land with more power than Ali.  I don't think either of them could knock the other out. In an extremely close fight I have Louis taking the decision based on aggression and landing the harder shots.

  19. I would have to say Sugar ray robinson vs. Marvin hagler.

It would go the distance and Robinson would take the fight . Very close fight but robinsons speed is to much for Marvin. =]]
