  1. No one is easiest or tough. This depends on your interest and skill set. In general Civil engineering is said to be easiest.

  2. I agree with the other posters - it depends on your aptitude.

I have a neighbor with a PhD in electrical engineering who says he never quite understood mechanical.  For me, mechanical always seemed like second nature - electrical engineering seemed the most baffling.

As you begin your engineering schooling, you'll get a feel for what you're good at as you take your 'general' classes - physics (where you'll get good exposure to mechanics and electricity), chemistry and computer science (you'll be required to take a basic programming class, with any engineering major).

Computer and Electrical engineering have a lot of overlap - many colleges offer a double/split major in both subjects.

Civil and mechanical engineering are similar in that they both deal with strength of structures and materials but if you want to build bridges, dams and roads, civil is the way to go.  Like machines? Go mechanical.

    One of my favorite jokes:

Q: What's the difference between mechanical engineers and civil engineers?

A: Mechanical engineers build weapons -- civil engineers build targets.

  3. I think Mechanical is easiest one

  4. I d say Electrical/Electronics or Computer engg are the easiest.

In the sense that to master them practically, its much easier to have hands on experience on Electronics and Computers, cuz there equipment and instruments are much cheaper to experiment with. Where as Mech, Civil dont allow you to have a Lab at your home.

Dont know much about environmental though.

Can say about electronics because I am electronic engineer myself.

  5. Not Electrical/Electronic. (I'm in my last year of this degree)

It depends where you're personal strengths are.

If you have previous experience in producing computer code, go for computer engineering. But be prepared for a lot of programming.  In general, computer engineering will require you to study the least amount of maths and physics if these are difficulties for you. Though you will still need to do some.
