Honestly, I'd like a lap dog. A cute one but I have problems on which breed to choose. My choices are: Shih tzu, Maltese or a Pomeranian

Please help. Honest and fact-based opinions are of top priority. Thank you!

  1. A shih tzu would be the best choice. Shih Tzus aren't yappy dogs, they are loyal, intelligent, and they are the ultimate lap dog.

  2. pomeranian:

    Maltese:

  3. I Would choose the pomerianian considering they were bred to be companion dogs and no they arent yappy and nippy like people say

My friend has 2 shih tzus and they are yappy annoying hide all day and they arent the best dogs

malteses are adorable and playful but very entergetic as puppies

pomerianians are just plain awsome and adorable

plus who doesnt love those furry littke bodies and cute heads lol

  4. Shih tzu, they are good natured , playful and not yappy.

Poms however are very hit andd miss, they can be have lovely temperment and can be playful...but they can also be very nippy, bark alot and agressive even if they are "cute". I don't now much about maltese but they would be similar to shih tzus.

  5. Honestly, I would go with a Shih tzu or Maltese, as a Pomeranian is a bit yippy.

  6. i know maltese and shih tzu need alot of grooming and pomeranian like to bark but i have a shih tzu/poodle and it is the best dog ever. there is this wonderful website: www.kijiji.ca and if you go there you can search for all dogs and their owners put them on there. you can e-mail them and i think it would be better to ask someone who owns one.

  7. Maltese all the way !!! Now that is a personal choice . I have two a male who is 1yr 4mo and a 6 month old female. My best friend has a shih tzu and they are great also . Now I do warn you both I have mentioned are high maintenance but it is sooo worth it . Good luck .

  8. They're all SO CUTE.  Pomeranians are known to be very excitable and yippy, but disgustingly adorable. Shih tzu are lovable. I know you don't have it as a choice, but dachshunds are awesome. They're so loyal to their owners and just love you no matter what.

  9. Shih-tzu would be my choice, friend of mine has one and she's amazing.

  10. im maltese girl and maltese dogs are cute so if i was you maltese are small and they are good for you.

  11. I'd take a look at a Bichon Frise. My kids (mostly my oldest daughter) got one a while back and Daddy DID NOT want a dog, especially not an anti-macho little lap dog.  But, Attila's (yes, she named a fluffy, white 6 pound dog Attila the Hun) cute factor...  beat me down and won me over in short order.

Just between me and you   ...I find myself looking forward to playing "give my that towel" with him when I get home everyday but please don't tell anyone!

  12. ~ All three of them can have a wide range of issues.  Shih Tzu and Maltese can be harder to house train.  Pomeranian's and Maltese can be constant barkers.   Maltese can be very territorial and nippy.  I think it depends on your level of dog experience, how well you can train and if you are disciplined enough to see that the dog does not develop these types of issues they are so easily prone to have.  Also, when looking at any breed of dog the first step is go to a quality breeder.  This will make a huge difference in how stable of a dog you are getting.  Don't expect to pay less than 700.00 for a quality dog and ask all the right questions.  Some breeders can be tricky to flush out and the last thing you want is a badly breed small dog.

  13. well pomeranian barks alot and tends to be nippy....**** tzu is a great breed very loving and maltese are great....its your  choice but i highly suggest no pomerainians. Good luck you'll love having a new dog to love!

  14. What kind of person are you? Different breeds of dogs have different needs. Are you active and energetic, do you like dog sports and training or just want a companion animal.

All dogs are good, the important thing is to match the needs of the pup with the lifestyle of the owner.

Research your breeds (go to rescue sites to get the good, the bad, and the ugly on each breed honestly told) and then be honest about yourself and your lifestyle, then decide what pup would best suit you!

    Good luck!

  15. My new puppy is half shiatsu and is a very sweet, cuddly little lap dog. He is very attatched to humans. However he seems to have a hard time being alone at all, maybe just because he's new, but you may want to look into that.

  16. i know this isnt one of your choices but you should seriousli consider a king charles spaniel.

mi frend has 1 an when ever she sits down he jumps on her lap and curls up absoluteli adorable
