  1. Im gonna go with the rockies

BLUE JAYS: 3 teams fighting for first already.....it would be crazy at the least for this to happen

TIGERS: Possible, but they need pitching to have a shot

BRAVES: Selling at the trade deadline, no hudson and chipper....no shot

ROCKIES: Defiently have a shot in the weak NL West....any team would have a shot in that division!

  2. I think it's by far the Rockies. Detroit might be a popular choice because they are obviously the best team but they are in the second hardest division to win. Plus they really have no pitching. Verlander is not being Verlander, the rest of the rotation really sucks and the bullpen is one of the worst (if not the) in baseball. I mean when your closer (often best reliever) has a 50% save conversion rate, that says a lot. I don't think they have the pitching to get past the Twins or the White Sox.

Rockies are in a crappy division that is wide up for grabs. They just need any kind of streak and they will win the division. However there have been Tex-Dbacks rumors and if that happens, then that really eliminates the Rox from contention but looking at the teams now, the West is the most winnable and we saw this last year so why not this year?

  3. The Rockies the NL West is not a strong Divisions

  4. where are the rangers well if the angels would lose every once in a while they are above .600

  5. Gotta go with Detroit. There's way to much talent and expirence to exclude them out of the chase.

  6. I think the Tigers have the best chance.

  7. Detroit and Colorado are about even here in that both clubs have tremendous offensive potential, but I have to choose the Rockies for the following reasons:

    1. Some of the Rockies' young studs got off to a slow start this year, but have recently begun to produce i a big way. Troy Tulowitzki was playing terrible baseball offensively before an extended DL stint, and is now on fire. Ian Stewart, a midseason callup, has more than made up for the absence of Todd Helton and as a formerly very highly touted prospect should continue his torrid hitting. Finally, Ubaldo Jiminez, who can hit triple digits on a radar gun, has resolved some of his control issues and has been practically unhittable in July (5-1, 1.74)

    2. The Rockies have a history of late season surges. You should understand this one if you've followed baseball for more than a year.

    3. The NL West is still far weaker than the AL Central. If the Rockies develop any kind of consistency as a team and play as they are capable of, there is no one in that division that can stop them from taking it.

  8. I think the Tigers are the only team of the four with a chance but I don't believe any of them will go to the playoffs.

  9. rockies, because the rest of their division is SOOO BAD. The others have to catch good teams.

the Tigers may actually be good enough to win their division, but they really need to catch fire soon.

  10. the best team out of those is without question the Tigers. although i think it's more likely that the Rockies will come back to win their division, because their division is so bad.

  11. The Rockies.  They have no competition to chase down.

The Tigers have a good enough team to pull it off.

The Blue Jays are behind too many too tough teams.

The Braves are done.  They are throwing-in the towell and probably trading Teixiera now that Hudson is done and Chipper hurt.

  12. Rockies.

  13. I think the Colorado Rockies have the best shot since they play in the weakest division and have one of the easiest schedules in baseball.

The long shot has to be the Toronto Blue Jays with the division they play in...I dont think it will be a contest for them in a couple of weeks because the Yankees, the Red Sox, and the Rays will keep winning.

  14. rockies

  15. The TIgers defiently.  I think with their hitting they can pull it off.

With the Braves, they gotta hop over 3 great teams--Marlins, Philles and Mets.  I just dont think they can do it.

Rockies, although its difficult to rule out any team in the NL WEST, I personally think the Dodgers will win that divison.  They have more pieces than other teams.  The D'backs will contend, but their pitching can only take them so far.

Jays-RedSox, Yankees, Rays.  Self explanatory.  Roy Halladay rumored to get traded.  Then the boat will have sunk if that happens.

  16. The Tigers have the best team out of that group - but the Rockies have the best shot, simply because the other teams are  either chasing too many teams above them, or the teams above them are actually good.

  17. rockies
