Well I want to get a proector for home use only to use it for movies or games in my room and I dont want something expensive. So here is what I ended with. ("D" stands for diagonal screen size at 3 meters distance between projector and screen) in "cm"

BenQ PB7100 DLP Projector

800x600 resolution, 1800 ANSI lumens, 2000:1 contrast, 5.6 lbs

D = 159 to 191

BenQ PE5120 DLP Projector

854x480 resolution, 1100 ANSI lumens, 2000:1 contrast, 6.4 lbs

D = (16:9 = 191 to 229) (4:3 = 156 to 187)

BenQ MP511+ DLP Projector

800x600 resolution, 2100 ANSI lumens, 2000:1 contrast, 5.7 lbs

D = 191

InFocus Learn Big IN2102EP DLP Projector

800x600 resolution, 2500 ANSI lumens, 2000:1 contrast, 6.9 lbs

D = 174 to 190

Microtek MS4 DLP Projector

800x600 resolution, 1200 ANSI lumens, 1500:1 contrast, 4.5 lbs

D = 112 to 220

ViewSonic PJ503D DLP Projector

800x600 resolution, 1500 ANSI lumens, 2000:1 contrast, 5.7 lbs

D = 187

NIB Optoma DS305 DLP Home Theater Projector

800x600 resolution, 1800 ANSI lumens, 2000:1 contrast, 4.4 lbs

P.S all have almost the same price and same lamp life, and all are DLP since i've read that they are better than LCD.

  1. They all are DLP, have the same resolution and contrast ratio. The 4th one has better lumens and i'm guessing the weight does'nt matter to you.

    You should get the 4th one.

  2. Well the BenQ PE5120 DLP Projector is the only one with a DVD widescreen resolution(854x480). The rest are more of a computer resolution (800x600).  I would definitely check for inputs on these and verify it has component, DVI, or S-Video.  Using composite (yellow RCA cable) will look terrible blown up to 100", should you do that.
