Just to give you something to watch...they aren't the greatest 4 races of all time, just four good ones which went down to the wire.

  1. Wow thanks Rosbif, that's finished off a great day for me!

As Christos_ swc said they are all great though the 86 Spanish GP last lap was pretty special, Prost+ Rosberg running out of fuel fractionally spoilt the German GP.

  2. oh no doubt! I love the different designs of each car. Basically,  a "run what you brung" type of atmosphere. indeed it was all about who had the best "formula" for the driver's and constructor's championship! Awesome videos.

  3. .

I don't have high speed internet here, so I swung down from my hammock, took a boat to the mainland, bus to the nearest main town, bike taxi to the net cafe and waited eons for the downloads.

    My answer?

Germany....It showed Senna's ability to launch and drive competitively in a mediocre car; Piquet was just awesome overtaking again and again; Rosberg did a number of seriously good overtakes too (there's some inherited genes there) and only thwarted by a gas-guzzling McLaren; Prost wasn't showing well, but looked to be picking up points until he spluttered to a halt; Mansell benefitted from the Big Mc double-dollop of miscalculation on the amount of fuel and I (THANKFULLY) had forgotton the Bennetton paint scheme or put it down to the drugs i was taking at the time....

Well worth the effort... All those names, all those memories!!

  4. 1. Great racing, it's surprising seeing the cars bouncing on bumps in the track at pretty high speeds, something that high downforce setups has now eradicated.

    2. More great racing, must have been exciting to watch live with all the passing and mistakes etc happening.

    3. Great wheel to wheel racing, love it.

    4. Great driving from Nelson there he was in a different league that race. Do you know if those blocks in the chicane runoffs were concrete?

Great clips there and thanks for bringing them to my attention, my favourite was no.2.

  5. They were all pretty awesome.

It's great to watch the cars slide sideways for half the straight like karts without violently spinning out.

That should also show people who so easily underestimate modern F1 drivers because of all the electronics on their cars how difficult and unforgiving F1 cars have become.

I don't like Piquet, never did, the sight of Mansell in that Ferrari though makes me all soft.
